The opening dance of the circus begins today

I am up early as usual eating breaks, this is partly so that I can eat at the right time in relation to race time, and partly because I am really bad at sleeping in. We have a busy day today, off early to the lake for some flat water speed efforts, before some of the others paddle on the course.

I need to make friends with the wet and dry after training to tidy up the small repair I did last night on my tail. The hull also has a couple of small resin imperfections where the mould has stuck or something else has happened during manufacturing. I will do the entire hull of the boat in a series of grades of wet and dry finishing with 1200. In theory this also helps the speed off the boat.

We have scrutineering today. The boat is checked to make sure it is within the maximum allowable length, over the maximum width and what everyone has been giving me a hard time about that the boat is over 11kg... Their seems to be no doubt my boat is, it is just by how much....
